“Your mouth can either escalate or de-escalate a situation…so think before speaking.”

When considering the strongest body part, one may think of strong legs, muscular arms, or even large hands. In my experience however, I have come to learn that our strongest body part is in fact, our tongue. Not literally, but in the sense that the words that roll off of this body part has the strength and power to make or break us. Whether we are speaking positivity or negativity, the root of it all comes down to the words we speak. The old phrase says ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.’ Is that really true? I’m sure almost everyone can recall a time in their life when a situation has escalated because of mere words. Family fights, relationship endings, work conflicts, and internal battles can all escalate and even appear from words alone.

On the other hand, family reconciliations, relationship beginnings, career opportunities, and personal breakthrough can also stem from words. I prefer to allow my words to shift my life in beneficial ways.

You have the power to choose to speak life or death over yourself, your goals, your dreams, and your future. Choose your words wisely.
